DEATH FROM LOCKJAW. (Peb United Pngss Association.) HAMILTON, October 29. Mr Charles Gibson, aged 58, proprietor of the Waihou Hotel, died in the hospital. Deceased a few days ago stepped on a rusty nail, and lockjaw supervened. BUSINESS MAN’S! DEATH. (Pkb United association.) HAMILTON. October 29. At the inquest on the body of Mr Charlie Frederick Bond, a prominent business man, who was found dead alongside a gas tubewith tho gas turned on, a verdict of suicide while in a state of mental depression was returned. LORRY COLLIDES WITH TRAIN. DRIVER SERIOUSLY INJURED. i’i.R United i-ress Association.) WANGANUI, October 29. James Kench, the driver of a light motor lorry, was seriously injured this morning in a collision between his lorry and a goods train. He was admitted to the hospital in an unconscious condition. WATCHMAN DROWNED. (Peb United Peess Association.) WELLINGTON, October 29. Richard Albert Chidley, watchman on the steamer Maori, was drowned to-day. The body has been recovered. MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. i»OM Oue Special Reporter ! GORE, October 29. Whilst a Dunedin-bound car was travelling north about six miles from Gore a motor cyclist crashed into it on a slurp turn. The cyclist, Mr W. J. Kearns, o: Roxburgh, was killed.
