SUPREME COURT.
PRISONERS SENTENCED., (Peb United Peers Association ) CHRISTCHURCH, October 11. In the Supremo Court th’s morning William Fraser Park, a school teacher, an a charge of indecent assault was sentenced vo five years’ imprisonment, the judge remarking that accused was to be pitied, but society must be protected. Winton Clark, aged 25 (indecent assault), was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment, and James Audrey Register, aged 45 (theft), received six months, and was declared an habitual criminal. George William Samson and entering and theft), was admitted to probation. Samuel Robert Smith (similarly charged), was given three years’ reformative treatment Henry Percival Browne (theft of a’ postal packet), was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Thomas J. Hunter alias Edward Bounar Collins (theft and false pretences), was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment arid declared an habitual criminal. Erie Outhbert Courtenay (false declaration under the Marriage Act) was fined £lO.
