(Received Oct. 12, at 5.5 p.m.) Senator Pearce (Minister of Home and Territories) has received a telegram from the Administrator of the Northern Territory stating that the steamer which was sent to search for the missing Douglas Mawson women has returned to Darwin. The officer in charge of the search party reports that ho made a thorough search, which convinced him that there was no foundation in the story that white women are held captive by the blacks.
