OTAGO A. AND P. SOCIETY.

HORSE PARADE

The entries for the forty-first annual show of Clydesdale stallions closed yesterday with a total of 45 entries aa compared with 53 the previous year. The competition in most of the classes is good and many of the animals entered this year will compete for the first time, and some of them have only been landed from the Old Oounrly during the last week. The chief interest, no doubt, will be centred in tho aged stallion class for which 13 entries have been received, and those competing for Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Company’s second challenge cup, the previous cup having been won outright at last year’s parade. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Company, recognising the importance of encouraging the breeding of Clydesdale horses, have offered a second cup, but with extra restrictions in regarding fo stallions four years old. This cup is offered for tho best Clydesdale stallion or colt which must be registered in the Clydesdale Horae Society’s hook All animate entered in this class will bo examined by Messrs W. D.
