The Union Company announces that at the urgent request of the Fiji fruitgrowers and the Auckland fruit importers it has been arranged to make the Tofua’s time-table one week later than at present, and instead of sailing from Auckland on Saturday, October 4, the vessel will now sail from Auckland on Saturday, October 11. She will leave Auckland for Fiji, Tonga, and Samoa every four weeks thereafter. The request was made so that a better fruit distribution could be achieved. At the present time the Tofua would arrive at Auckland at about the same time that the Ngakuta arrived at Wellington, and a week’s postponement in the arrival date of the Tofua will be entirely in the interests of the fruit trade.
