OTAGO YACHT AND MOTOR BOAT CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Club was held in the Overseas Club’s rooms last night, Mr W. B. Waters presiding over a large attendance. The hall was decorated with flags and photographs of sailing craft (both past and present) in the Otago Harbour, while round the walls wore flags on wluch were printed the names of those boats. Later in the evening Mr C. W. Sundstrum showed lantern slides of sailing, steam, and motor craft. The Chairman, in moving the adoption ot the report and balance sheet, congratulated the club on its success during the year. He stated that the balance sheet, which showed that the club had a surplus of £157 18s Id, was a very satisfactory one.
The report and balance sheet were adopted. Mr C. W. Sundstrurn, on being elected to the chaiv as the incoming commodore, said that they would have to work with something in view. The Exhibition was coming, and the reyatta to be held during that time would entail a great deal of work. They were glad to see among them Mr G. Latimer, one ot Otago's oldest yachtsmen. Mr A. Moffett, a prominent yachtsman from Stewart Island, was also welcomed. The following office-bearers were elected: Commodore, Mr C. W. Sundstrurn; vicecommodore, Mr J. T. Paul; rear-commodore, Mr D. Paterson; hon. treasurer, Mr F. Goodwin; secretary, Mr E. S. Wilson; committee —Messrs A. B. Welch, J. Angell, It. Cahill, T. Fronde, J. Jardine, E. Davys, F. I>. Francis, W. Hendenson, W. A. Jenkins, and Lynn; delegates to the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association, Messrs Waters and Paterson; hon. measurer, Mr G. P. Lindsay; hon. auditors, Messrs N. Oliphant and A. W. Hazelwood. The election of handicappor was left to the incoming committee. The following made offers of prizes: Messrs W. It. Waters, C. W. Sundstrurn, A. Moffstt, J. T. Paul, A. Morgan, F. Goodwin, D. Paterson, W. J. P. M'Culloch, A. W. Hazelwood, W. Lane, F. B. Francis, Lynn, H. E. Miller, and E. Davys. The members then met socially. The Mayor (Mr H. L. Tapley) presented the prizes for the past year, and in proposing the toast of "The Prize Winners" stated that they were deserving of Buccess. It was a fine thing to see so many young men competing. There were difficulties in the harbour,, but in spite of this good yachting had resulted. Mr Hazelwood replied on behalf of the prize winners. Other toasts honoured were: "The Otago Harbour Board," "The o."¥ and MB C Flag Officers," "The Old Brigade," and "The. Mayor." Hems were given by Messrs Rawlinson, Jeffs, Burike, and Calder. During the evening Mr Nees presented Mr Waters with a badge as a recognition of hid services. A badge was also presented to Mr W. Henderson by Mr Waters.
