I, at b-5 p.m.) The Sultana diamond, weighing 100 carats, and said to be the fourth largest diamond in the world has been prcW for an American syndicate by Mr Joseph Stablin, who made the announcement today on the arrival of the new hrench steamship Degrasso. Mr Stahlm refused to name the syndicate or make known the price. He declared that the diamond vould be shipped here under a bond within a fortnight. The stone was purchased lUom Mulai Halid aftor a transoceanic and across the desert race with representatives of another American syndicate uho were seeking it/. ... , . . . The ex-Sultan’s home is in the interior of Morocco. A gem expert of danglers had appraised the stone at twice the sum he paid for it. Little is known of the diamond’s history, except that Mulai Hahd put it on the market about four years ago, offering it for sale in various old world capitals.—Reuter.
