THE "WEST CAKOKIA. Advice has been received that the Sawyno and Hdyte Lino steamer West Cahokin, which sailed from San Francisco on August It for Now Zealand and Australia, is bringing assorted American cargo. Her discharing porta are Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, Bluff, Melbourne, Sydney, and Newcastle. The West Gahokia is due at Auckland on September 8, and Wellington about September IS. OIL TANKERS AT WELLINGTON. It is understood that Evans Bay and Miramar, Wellington, are shortly to have a second wharf for the accommodation of oil tankers. At the present time the Miramar wharf is being considerably extended in order that adequate accommodation may be given tankers bringing crude oil for. the Union Steam Ship Company's tanks at Miramar, and coal boats feeding the gasworks and the Evans Bay power station, hut the very great oil station which is already under way further up the Miramar Valley, where the British Imperial Oil Company is installing plant and storage representing between £250,000 and £300,000, will mean that additional accommodation will become essential. Tho new wharf, which will bo built parallel to the roadway, about 100 ft out from the present shore line, a couple of hundred yards or eo to tho north of the present wharf, will probably cost between £60,000 and .£BO,OOO, irrespective of shed and storage accommodation, which will probably bo erected on the land reclaimed between the wharf proper and tho present roadway. Tho present plans of the British Imperial Oil Company are that the pipe line shall be brought down the Miramar Valley to the cutting, and shall then turn to the north to the site of the proposed wharf.
