(Received August 24, at 5.5 p.m.) Terrible thunderstorms and torrential rain are again features of this amar-ing summer. The MVembley Stadium resembled a lake, and six inches of water was registered. The racing tracks, avenues, and the musical section of the Palace ot Industry were flooded. Exhibits had to bo removed, and women and children carried over portions of tne ground, The water poured under the doors of the Burmah pavilion, and chairs floated arouna the band stands. The concussion of the thunderclaps smashed windows in 15 houses at Braintree, Esses. Several houses were wrecked or set afire in other districts. The Wemblev .pageant was cancelled Inst night.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
