FAREWELL DINNER IN LONDON. LONDON. August 16. Sir Joseph Cook presided at a farewell dinner to Mr W. G. Gibson, Post-master-General of the Commonwealth, and Mr J. W. Pennington, of the Victorian Parliament, at tho British Empire Club. Sir Joseph Cook and others spoke warmly regarding the work accomplished by both guests in their spheres while in London. Mr Gibson reviewed the work ho had done, and regretted that ho had no time to continue further efforts respecting wireless development, and also transit charges. Ho spoke appreciatively of tho work done by Sir Joseph Cook’s staff at Australia House, of the efficiency of which lie had entirely changed his opinion. Messrs Pennington, Joyce (Queensland), Davis (Melbourne), and other speakers concurred.
