“JERQUES.”
“Jerques,” the spectacular show to be held in His Majesty’s Theatre, commencing on Saturday afternoon next, and continuing on the same evening and the following Monday, promises to be a huge financial success judging by the phenomenal advance sales, whilst the artistic side, it is felt sure, will leave nothing to ho desired. Mr .1. \ . Hanna, under whom the production is being staged, has included most, of the New York successes in the entertainment, one outstanding feature of which will be the “Golden AVand»." interpreted by a bevy of ladies, and which is said to be the very acme of poetry and grace. A lantern march of Kmpire, with over 100 principals, will bo another item quite out or (he ordinary. The costumes for this alr.no should be well worth witnessing. Comedy will bo interspersed with the various items, whilst M ; ss Xctta Keates and her pupils will contribute two items, both delightfully presented, the first being “The Magic Pool, ’ whilst the second is wrapt round the famous song “La Paloma,” and takes the form of a Spanish dance. An efficient orchestra of 15, under the direction of Mrs W. Ilnggitt and led by Mr J, A. Wallace,, will lend a suitable atmosphere to all the many and varied scenes.
