ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
WOUNDED WITH SHOTGUN. (Pee United Press Association.) WHAKATANE, August 18. A boy named Theobald, 16 years of ago, was wounded with a shotgun yesterday morning at Manawabo. Ho was pig-hnnt-ing with his father when the latter slipped, the gun in his hand going off, peppering his son. 'The boy, who was wounded in both thighs, was taken to the Whakatane Hospital, where it was found that his injuries were not serious. MAORI DROWNED IN FLOODED RIVER. <P*» United Press Association > GISBORNE, August 18. While fording the Mata River, which was in high flood, a Native named Taraheta was swept from his horse and drowned. CHILD FATALLY SCALDED. (Pbb United Pbess Association.) GISBORNE, August 18. Ronald Gordon Thackwefl aged 13 months, was fatally scalded through upsetting a cup of hot cocoa over himself.
