OBSTRUCTIONS ON FOOTPATHS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—lt is surprising to see the number of firms in the main street that make a practice of displaying their goods right on the footpath. .U seems to mo to ho a dangerous habit, as pedestrians are liable to trip over I.horn. Only the otner day, while 1 was endeavouring to “keep to the left,’’ my boot came in contact with a case of vegetables. The fruiterers appear to lie the worst offenders. If all shops had cases of goods in front of their windows there would be a gnat cause for complaint, but if one or two can do it, why not the lot?—I am, eta, Huuodin, August 16. Safety.
