CHARGE OF BABY-FARMING
NEFARIOUS PRACTICE EXPOSED. HIGH FRENCH INFANT MORTALITY A/eeoeistion —By Telegraph - -Copyright. LONDON, August 14. The Paris correspondent of The Times says; “Baby fanning charges against a Bordeaux doctor, in which the police are trying to trace 16 missing children, have again riveted public attention on the abnormal rate of infantile mortality in Prance. Apparently the doctor made a practice of receiving expectant unmarried mothers, whose children webe bom secretly. He then undertook the supervision of the infants at a price. The newspapers draw attention to the surprising fact that in its birth rate France exceeds that of England, but France’s infantile mortality is far higher. They comment on the common practice, particularly among the working class, of mothers placing their babies out to nurse, and the dangers and mortality which result from that system.
