DUNEDIN CHORAL SOCIETY.
There arc few readers who know the amount of work and time occupied in preparing for the productions of (he Dunedin Choral Society, and if diligent practice counts for anything the rendering of “Der Frieschutz,” on Tuesday and Wednesday next, week should be well up to the usual standard of the society’s work. The vocal numbers are all tuneful, and a special feature of the orchestral work will be the opportunities for the brass in the hunting choruses. Choir and orchestra will have a rare chance of submitting something out of the ordinary in the music of “The Wolf's Glen.’’ which is considered by many authorities to be the finest descriptive operatic number ever written. Most ol the soloists are known to Dunedin audiences and their names arc sufficient recommendation to waiTant a packed theatre. Readers are asked to look up the advertisement in this issue and note the reasonable admission charge.
