TWO LIFEBOATS WASHED ASHORE.

THE SEARCH CONTINUED. (Pm United Pbror Association i WELLINGTON, August 11. The Burn has left for a further search. Judging by the wreckage washed up at Castlepoint further bodies will probably come ashore there. Further search is being made, extra constables having been despatched to Castlepoint. Two lifeboats marked “Ripple” have been found at Castlepoint. A considerable quantity of benzine and barrels of lubricating oil were found on the beach at tho mouth of tho Karori Stream between Happy Valley and Terawhite Station. It was thought at first that the oil might have been part of the cargo carried by the Ripple, but Captain Petersen states definitely that oil of the description found at the mouth of the Karori Stream was not carried by the Ripple. He presumed that the tins and barrels formed part of the deck cargo washed overboard from some vessel running across the Strait. Doubt is expressed whether Daniel Crawford, steward, was on the Ripple at the time of tho disaster, but the fact that he was a member of the crew was confirmed by his brother, Mr W. Crawford. Deceased was 25 years of age, and had b»en on the Ripple for six months. He resided at Tinakori road, Wellington. INQUEST ON CAPTAIN NORLING. lA'na United Press Association.) MASTERTON, August 11.
