V Pfldmst. 11.0 (Southland) outpointed A. HRPhail *ll.ll (Canterbury), after an even Lr rounds, Padget doing most of the loading. FLY-WEIGHT. T Tavlor 7.95 (Auckland) scored a technical taffimt bom C. Hoekmge, 7.Bft (Web Ungton). Taylor was much stronger than U J °L?cki“ t 7.9 (Otago) outpointed C. Brosnahan, 7.94 (Canterbury) after a haid confeet in which the Otago man showed the better knowledge of boxing. It was a fine bout ‘. BANTAM-WEIGHT. The judges disagreed in the bout between A Wilmot, 8.2 (Hawke’s Bay) and N. KeilW 7 135 (West Coast), and the decision given in favour of the latter met with a t“ tl B n i (Otago) received the referee’s verdict after a disagreement by the judges over J. O’Sullivan, B.IJ (Auckland), after a good exhibition of boxing. FEATHER-WEIGHT. F L Drew, 8.13 J (Otago) outpointed F. Richardson, 8.75 (Hawke’s Bay), after a tame contest, in which the winner did most of the attacking. After a most even and hard-fought contest P Black, 8.13 (Wellington) got the decision after a disagreement by the judges over D. Armshaw, 8.13 (Auckland). LIGHT-WEIGHT. R Trowcm, 9.75 (Auckland) knocked down Ivan Scarfe, 9.8 (Hawke’s Bay) three limes in the second round, and the referee stopped the fight. , Broenahan (Canterbury) was unable to make the middle-weight limit, and defaulted to L. O’Neil (West Coast). After a rather crude display, J. Kindley, 9.9 (Otago) won on points from T. Hooper, 9.9 (Canterbury). WELTER-WEIGHT. N. M’Huight, 10.6 (Auckland) knocked out H. Cotter, 10.3 (West Coast) in the first round. After the greatest fight of the evening, in which neither man let up for a second, D. Loveridge, 9.10 (Wellington) defeated D. Pascoe, 9.75 (West Coast), TRAINING COLLEGE TOURNEY. BOXING CONTESTS. (Peb United Pbess Association.) WELLINGTON, August 11. The Training Colleges’ boxing represents lives met at the Town Hall this afternoon. Wellington defaulted in one contest but took the rubber by three wins to two. The results are as follow: Feather-weight.—Hay (Wellington) beat Butterworth (Auckland). Light-weight.—Gardner (Wellington) beat Barnes (Auckland). Welter-weight.—Hall (Wellington) lost to Cormaok (Auckland). Middle-weight,—Goodall (Wellington) beat Smith (Auckland). Heavy-weight.—Auckland won by default. 1
