Property was damaged to the extent of £1,000,000, including live stock. Six inches of rain fell in the town of St. Edward, where Chautauqua, was in session. Tho tont was demolished, and tho audience iled to high ground. Boats later rescued them. Thousands of acres of cornfields were destroyed.—Sydney Sun Cable.
