(Received August 1, at 6.5 p.m.) Canon Bames, of Westminster, will succeed Dr Wakefield in the bishopric of i Birmingham.—A. and N.Z. Cable. The Rev. Ernest William Bames, M.A., F.R.S., F.R.A.S., has been Canon of Westminster since 1918. Ho was educated at King Edward’s School, Birminglmm, and at Trinity College, Cambridge, and was ordained in 1902. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1909, and a Fellow of King’s College, London, in 1919. He is 50 years of age.
