ALBANY STREET SCHOOL JUBILEE.
A well-attended mealing of ox-pupils and cx-tcachors of the Albany Street School was held in the schoolhouse last evening, Mr Alex. Dempster presiding. The Social Committee's report as to the arrangements made for catering in connection with the social reunion and the dinner was adopted. Tho Secretary reported that letters had been received from ex-pupils now resident in different parts of the dominion. Thy sent their good wishes to their old school, and many forwarded donations towards the Jubilee Fund. The following committee was appointed to carry out the musical programme at the reunion on Friday, August 15:—Messrs Dempster, Rennie, Sinclair, Burke, and Mias Sullivan. It was also decided to appoint Messrs Dempster, Wilkinson, Rennie, Rawlinson, and Johnson to arrange the programme for the dinner on Saturday evening, August 16. Mr J. H. Wilkinson reported regarding the jubilee souvenir. A suggestion had been made that in order to include reports of tho jubilee celebrations the publication of the souvenir bo delayed. The Souvenir Committee, however, were strongly of the opinion that the booklet should be issued during the forthcoming celebrations. Mr Wilkinson believed that it would he a worthy record and a suitable memento of tho occasion. Gratification was expressed at the formation of an old boys’ club in Christchurch. Before closing, the Chairman intimated that all tho arrangements were well forward, and ho was of the opinion that everything pointed to a successful function being held.
