FIRE AT WAIROA.

TWO SHOPS DESTROYED. (Pee United Press Association.) WAIROA, July 25. A fire broke out at about 12.30 this morning in a shop owned by Mr J. R. Ross, of Napier, and occupied by Mr Simon Raffol, fancy goods dealer. Tho building was burnt to the ground, and also an adjoining shop and tea rooms, occupied hv Mr Jobbs, and owned by Mr J. Mayo. They were both old wooden buildings on the Marine parade. A concrete block of shops adjoining prevented the fire spreading further. Mr Raffol’s stock was insured for £IOOO in the Commercial Union Office, his estimated loss being £IOOO. Mr Mayo’s insurance was £6OO in tho South British. Mr Jobbs had his stock uninsured, but most of it was saved.
