AVIATION FOR JAPAN
PROPOSED WORLD FLIGHT TOKIO, July 16. As a way of demonstrating bis resentment against the American exclusion law, an octogenarian business man of Osaka, lias given £IO,OOO for ihp army aviation service, requesting that it be used tor a round-the-world flight by Japanese airmen. A letter from General Maramasa., commander of the fourth division, which accompanied the donation to the War Office, said: “The exclusion is an insulting humiliation to Japan, which the nation, must resent. It is most regrettable, therefore, that the nation’s aviation has not advanced, while American, French and British fliers have come to Japan. We must strive to bring aviation up to date, aud not invite the contempt of others. Such a motive prompts the enclosed gift. '
