GREEN ISLAND BOWLING CLUB.
The members, .of tho. Croon Island Bowling Club held o. successful smeke concert on, Saturday night in the I. A. Hall. There was a largo numbon cf members, local friends, and representatives of Dunedin clubs present, including Air AV. Connor (president cf the Dunedin Bowling Centre). The chair was occupied by Mr W. Brown (president of the chib) and on the platioum wore lue Mayor (Mr Tomkins), Mr AY. Thomson, Air Alerccr, Air Connor, and Air A. Smeliie. ,
An excellent programme including toasts, the presentation of tho club prizes, and songs and ducts was presented. The function opened with, the singing o! the National Anthem, and tho clmi’iman warmly welcomed the visiting bowlers. Songs were contributed by the following; —Alossrs Angel. Cameron, A. Snicllio, C. C. Scott, Campbell, Hunter, Edmond, and Drydcn. Air Connor gave an imitation of the bagpipes, and duets were rendered bv Messrs Scott and Angel. Air Pizey played the accompaniments. Tho following toasts were honoured: “'The King.” “The Dominion Bowling Association and the Dunedin Centre” (proposed bv Air P. Thomson (responded to by Mr Alerrer aijd Air W. Connor). “The Green Island Borough Council” (proposed by Mr Johnson Asnonded to bv tho Mayor), The Visiting’ Bowlers.” “The Green Island Bowling Chib,” “Returned Soldiers, ” “The Performers.” -
