CURE OF CANCER
DR CLOVER’S DISCOVERY. COMMONWEALTH ACTS PROMPTLY. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, June 11. The Health Department has cabled to the Australian Commissioner at New York (Mr J. A. Elder) asking him to investigate immediately the reported discovery of a cure lor cancer by Dr Glover. Mr Bruce states that the Federal Government will spare no efforts to ascertain the merits of Ur Glover's methods and research. A. MORE GUARDED STATEMENT. SUPPLY OF SERUM LIMITED. NEW YORK, Jfune 10. (Received June 11, at 8.60 p.m.) In regard to the alleged cancer cure the Philadelphia Public Hedger publishes a qualifying statement from two Philadelphia specialists, Dr Warmuth and Hr Donnelly, who have been working with Dr Glover. They regret the first announcement before experimental work had made the discovery so certain that results could have been given, to the medical profession (or this point Ims not yet been reached. Dr Warmuth said that very advanced and what were ordinarily called "hopeless cases" would have little to expect from the new treatment. “We tan get only enough of the serum,” he said, “to treat experimental cases and we do rifft know wtien the general public can bo supplied in a manner like insulin. It takes 18 months to immunize a horse, so the production of the serum is slow.”—Sydney Sun Cable. A recent message from Ottawa stated that Dr T. J. Glover had established by conclusive tests that cancer was due to u micro-organism in the blood. It was further stated that he had discovered a treatment for the disease which, although still in the cxperimehtal stage, was producing remarkable results.
