There has recently been a brisk demand for rabbitakina, Continental hatters offering slightly firmer prices. Furriers, on_ the other hand, have not shown much activity. A satisfactory improvement is reported in the hatting trade, and, provided supplies are not too large for the coming sea«ori in Australia and New Zealand, it seems likely that prices will remain at a high level for some time. At the same time recent c.i.f. quotations from Australia have been very high, and it is probable that they will receive a cheek as soon as the first rush is over, and conic down again to about the level of prices established in the last auction. Tho National Mortgage and Agency Company of Now Zealand give tiie following quotations for New Zealand skins; Per lb. d. d.

PELTS. A few of the present season’s North Island freezing polls recently arrived have found buycr»°<xt very full prices. London prices to-day arc about on a parity with f.o.b. prices in New Zealand. Shipments coming to London this year are likely to be much smaller than usual, as freezing companies have linen tcni-pted to dispose of their pelts locally, in consequence of the high prices obtainable in New Zealand on f.o.b, terms. The small supply coming to London seems likely to find buyers at prices which should be satisfactory to consignors, A few New z,cahuul butchers' and fellrnongers' polls have been sold here during the past month at very full prices.
