GREEK REFUGEES
EXPEDITING THEIR SETTLEMENT. ADVANCE FROM BANK OF ENGLAND. Proas Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, June 10. (Received June 10, at 7.20 p.m.) The Morning Post’s Athens correspm dent says tiiat in consequence of an advance of £1,000,000 from tho Bank of England the work of settling refugees from Asia Minor has been expedited. The original 120,000 agricultural refugee families has been increased since the beginning of the year by 20,000, mainly from Pontus and Bithynia. Out of the total 73,000 refugees have been settled in Macedonia, 7500 in Old Greece, and another 20,000 are expected before the end of the year. The necessity of the continuance of charitable aid through the “Save the Children” and other funds is strongly emphasised.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
