SUPREME COURT.

Monday, May 26. (Before his Honor Mr Justice Reed.) FAMILY PROTECTION ACT. Originating summons under the Family Protection Act for adequate maintenance for the widow of Wesley Turton, luto solicitor. of Queenstown. —Mr Cook appeared for the widow, Mr Payno for the Perpetual Trustees and Executors Company. Mr Brasch for the Public Trustee. —Mr Cook said the testator died in October, 1922, leaving a will dated 1915. No provision was made for the widow, the estate being given to the children. The estate was worth about £226o.—An order was made, by consent of all parties, transferring certain monetary rights to the widow. OFFICIAL ASSIGNEE v. SPINKS. Motion to declare certain instruments null and void.—Mr R. R. Stewart (Balclutha) appeared to support the motion and Mr W. L. Moore to oppose. —In addressing the court, Mr Stewart said the motion attacked a bill of sale and transfer of mortgage given to his wife by J. B Spinks, farmer, who had been adjudicated a bankrupt.—Evidence was given, after which his Honor refused the motion, allowing costs £5 5s and disbursenjjents.
