RUGBY FOOTBALL.
SATURDAY’S MATCHES. The first round of flag matches will commence this aiternoon. At Carisbrcok University A will meet Zingari-Richniond, and this should provide a fast and open game of Rugby. As a curtain-raiser tho Third Grade match. Pirates v. High School, wiii be played. This should also provide a good exhibition. At the Caledonian Ground Dunedin will meet University B. when a good game should be witnessed. As a curtain-raiser the Second Grade match. Training College v. University C, will be played. At Tahuna Park Kaikorai will meet Southern. This should provide a closelycontested game. At the North Ground a good game should bo witnessed between Union and Pirates. Alhambra will meet Taieri Rovers at Mosgiel. Alhambra will travel by motor, leaving Manse street at 1.45 p.m. The Second Grade match, University D v. West Taieri will be played at, Outram. The University team will leave Manse street by motor at 1.30 p.m. THE EASTERN DISTRICT. The first matches of tho season in the Eastern District commence to-day, when Dunback and Palmerston meet at Palmerston, and Waikouaiti plays SoaclifT at Waikouaiti.
