OPINION IN FRANCE. GERMANY’S GOOD FAITH DOUBTED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, April 20. (Received April 22, at 0.25 a.m.) Pans correspondents report that French opinion generally is disinclined to share Mr MacDonald’s confidence in the German sense of honour. The Daily Chronicle’s Paris correspondent says;' “M. Poincare is sending a Note to M. Barthou, stating that only when the Allies have agreed what measures should be taken if Germany fails to carry out the experts’ programme will Franco” consent to abandon her present position in the Ruhr. The Daily Telegraph’s political observer says: ‘‘France asks for a definite Allied agreement on the consequences of possible German default and on secur.ty so far as this is connected with economics and finance. Subject to these reservations M. Poincare is willing to co-operate in the scheme.' —Reuter.
