LADY ASTOR’S INNOVATION. LONDON, March 31. There was an unusual scene at a party at Lady Astor’s house. I'iy guests wore labels bearing tHeir names and also their principal interest in life, business, or profession. Thus “Mistress Blank, women police, interest social welfare” ; “Marquis X. interest economics.” Lady Astor says that t-i© labelling of guests is an improvement on formal introductions, as it lacTTTlatcs conversation and makes for ease ol manner. The guests voted the idea a great success, ana it is likely to be imitated by other prominent hostesses.
