Providing the fog, which has been obscuring the entrance of the harbour, off and on for the past 10 days, has lifted the Mahana should berth early. The Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Moeraki, from Melbourne, via ♦ Bluff, is due here on Saturday, and is to sail on‘ Saturday evening for Lyttelton, Wellington,. and Melbourne. THE PORT VICTOR. Messrs J. W. Swift and Co., advise that the Commonwealth and Dominion Lino steamer Port Victor is to leave London on April 9 with cargo for Auckland, Lyttelton, Namier, and Now Plymouth. • CARGO FROM NEW YORK. The U. and D. Line advises that the Port August ia the next vessel to leave New York with cargo for New Zealand. She is to sail on May 10 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and New Plymouth. THE TAHITI. The Union Company announce that the i R.M.S. Tahiti sailed from San Francisco at noon last Wednesday for Wellington, via Papeete and Rorotonga. She should arrive at Wellington on April 14, and will continue on her voyage to Sydney the following day. PIAKO, DUE TO-DAY. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that the Federal liner Piako, from Liverpool, via Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton, is duo hero to-day to complete 'unloading. She will then load frozen meat and general cargo at Port Chalmere for West of England ports, anc} is to sail about the end of the week for Timaru, Lyttelton, and other northern ports to complete loading. CITY OP EASTBOURNE. The steamer City of Eastbourne, from New York, via Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton, i« due here to-morrow to continue discharge. She will complete unloading at Melbourne and Sydney. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. are the local agents. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. The following vessels were expected to be within range cf the under-mentioned wireless stations last night:—Auckland: _Arahura, Atholl, Canadian Constructor, Kaiapoi, Marama, Tekoa, Tofua, and Kaikorai. Chatham Islands; Hororata, Westmoreland;.. Scottish Monarch, Durham, and Devon. SHIPPING HAMPERED. DENSE FOG AT HEADS. A dense fog prevailed at the Heads again yesterday, and shipping has been somewhat hampered. The Union Company’s intercolonial cargo carrier Waikouaiti left Dunedin yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton, and it was hoped that she would not be delayed by the fog. The C. and D. Line steamer Port Pirie, which was expected off the Heads last night, will berth at Dunedin about 2.30 p.m. to-day if the fog lifts. There was also a thick bank of fog across the lower harbour, which extended from ehore to shore.

PORT PIRIB DUE TO-DAY. The C, and D. Idas steamer fort Pirie, from London, via 'Wellington, was due off the Heads late last night, and if the weather is clear she will berth at the Victoria wharf at about 2.30 p.m. to-day to discharge 1300 tons of ...general cargo. She will then go to Port Chalmers to load wool for Home, and will proceed to Auckland to complete discharge. The Port Piric will subsequently continue loading at New Zealand ports. TRANS-PACIFIC SERVICES. The following are the latest movements of vessels in the Union Company's transpacific cargo service; — Hauraki is to leave Sydney towards the end of this week for Melbourne, where sha will load for Wellington and Auckland; thence Pacific Coast. She will load at Pacific Coast ports in May for Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. Waiotapu is to leave Newcastle this week for Honolulu, via Suva. From Honolulu she will proceed to Vancouver to load early in May for Auckland, Melbourne, and Sydney. Wairuna, from Auckland, via Fanning Island, was due at Vancouver last week. She will load at Pacific Coast ports early in April for Wellington, Sydney, and Melbourne. Wii nemo, from Pacific Coast ports, sailed from San Francisco on Friday, March 14, for Auckland, Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin*** and New Plymouth. She is due at Auckland aJbout Tuesday next.
