St. Peter's Church, Cavershaar:, was yesterday consecrated by the Bishop of Christchurch. . . . The Bishop walked from tho cottage in which he had robed himself, accompanied by the Rev. A. Daaent, of ■WaikoHaiti, the Rev. Mr Searlo. formerly of Victoria, and some of the active promoters and aiders of tho building movement, including Mr H. ClapcotU Mr R. S. Cantrell, Mr J, L. Brcxlrick, Mr R, B. Martin, and’ Mr E. B. Pearce. At tho entrance to the church, the Bishop was received by_ the Rev. E. G. Edwards, who road the petition for consecration. ... Mr H. Hadyn Flood has been appointed conductor of the Choral Society of Dunedin. . .

The organ for St. Paul’s church may be shortly expected to arrive, it haring, been shipped in February. It has been constructed by Messrs Telford Brothers, of Dublin, who possess a very high reputation , ft,, organ builders.
