CHRISTCHURCH, March. 18 The tracks at Riccarton were in good order for galloping this morning, and the local horses booked for th© Waimatc find Oaxnaru meetings, apart from Palestrina, who left this morning, were given serviceable work on the plough. Gloaming, assisted by Gorgeous ever the first four, ran six furlongs in Xmin 21sec, being under a strong pull all the way. Ballymena, assisted by Mustard Pot over the first six. galloped nine furlongs with a light boy up in 2min 0 2-ssec, th© last mile taking linin 47 2-ssec. Lucinette, with a light boy up, covered half a mile in 53 2-ssec. Clareina and Integrity were to have gone five fur longs, but the start was mixed up. The last four furlongs took Clareina S 3 l-ssec, with Integrity a little way off. Ardour was under a strong pull to keep her back with Carpcnticr, both with fair weights up, over six furlongs, run in Imin 20 2-ssec On the grass Ophir, assisted by Coniston, v'ent five furlongs, the last four taking Imin 61 1-Ssec, Haze, with a good weight up, sprinted four furlongs in 52 3-ssec, Winning Hit, assisted by Viewpoint (who got a big break), ran a mil© in Imin Jfisec. Both had very light boys up. Deep Drive galloped five furlongs, the last four taking 5.3 2-Ssec. Sh© was stopping at the finish Gold Town and Cupidon were sent six furlongs, which they left behind in Imin 18 2-Erec. finishing on terms. Tresham and Jubilant went five furlongs '-veil. Whipping Boy was going better than Rivalry at the close of seven furlongs, the last six taking Imir. 19scc. Both had light boys up. Top Score and Game-bag were together at the close of four furlongs, run in 49 4-saec. Wharfedale, with the better of lha -weights and well on the inside, beat Murihaupo over six furlongs in Imin 15 4-ssec. Gay Queen sprinted four furlongs we#. Pillicwinkie, assisted by Red Gown over the laet four furlongs and a-half, galloped a mile in Imin 43soc. Th© former had a very light boy up, ami Red Gown was easily holding him over the last furlong. The Polyinnian and Rj>d Wink were companions over seven furlongs, fii.-iebing on terms in Imin .30 3-ssec. Both bad light beys up. Rod Kriss and Speechmaker galloped half a mile, finishing on terms. The annual meeting of the Kaikorai Ladies’ Hockey Club was held at 19 Duncan street on Monday evening, when there was a full attendance of members. Judging by the enthusiasm of those present, the forthcoming season should be very successful. With the additional members now joining it is hoped to form another team. The annual report and balance sheet showed that for such a young club it was in a very satisfactory position.
