POISONS MOTHER'S MEDICINE. LONDON, February 16. Beatrice Newman, a girl 16 years of age, was charced at Portsmouth to-day with having- administered poison to her widowed mother. /ItTe girl admitted that she had put poison in a medicine bottle while her mother was suffering from influenza. She thought it would make her mother ill, but she did not want to kill her. "She was always going on at me about staving out late at night," the daughter added. The mother gave evidence that when she took the medicine she felt a burning sensation in her throat. She took the bottle to a chemist, whc said the medicine had been interfered with. •
