GAS INSTITUTE.
AN ASSOCIATION FORMED. (Pes United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, February 27. A meeting of engineers and managers of gas works in Now Zealand, convened by Mr G. D. Stone, of Wanganui, was hold for the purpose of forming a Gas Institute for New Zealand. There was a large attendance of represetnatives from the municipal and company gas undertakings from all parts of the dominion. An association called the Gas Institule of New Zealand was formed, and the following office-bearers were elected---President, Mr James Lowe, M.1.C.E., Auckland; vice-president, Mr G. D. Stone, M.1.G.E., Wanganui; secretary. Mr H. Rands, M.A., B.Sc., Wellington : treasurer. Mr M. J. Kennedy Wellington; members of committee —Messrs Atkinson (Auckland). Healey (Palmerston North), and James Kennedy (Greymouth)._ The members mot to consider a draft of the proposed regulations affecting the gas industry, which the Board of Trade has under consideration. The institute appointed a deputation to interview the Minister and the Board of Trade with the object of securing a certain amendment in the proposed regulations. It w ( is decided to hold the next annual meeting in Auckland.
