The New South Wales Cabinet has accepted the tender of Messrs Dorman, Long and Company (a Yorkshire engineering firm) for the* North Shore bridge across the harbour. The price is £4,217,721. The Cabinet deliberated for three hours before accepting the recommendation of Mr R. T. Ball (Minister of Works) regarding Messrs Dorman, Long and Co., getting the bridge contract. The amount of the tenef'er is £111.809 less than the estimate of Mr Bradfield. In fabrication and erection the bridge will practically be 100 per cent. Australian.
