ARCHBISHOP REDWOOD.
CHILDREN’S ADDRESS. A STIRRING CEREMONY. (Fbom Oca Own Cokeespondent.) WELLINGTON. February 27. This afternoon the Town Hall was filled with children of the Catholic Archdiocese on the occasion of the presentation of their address to Archbishop Redwood. A feature of the ceremonies was the splendid singing of the children, especially the septet, “Far Down the Woodland” (RigOletto), by five girls from the Guilford i Terrace Convent School. A stirring number was “God Defend New Zealand,” sung by the combined schfiols, ■ v A testimony to the general esteem iji which his Groce, Archbishop Redwood, is held in Wellington was made evident at the Town Hall last evening; by ihe presence of many leading uon -Catholic citizens. Among these were the Rev. Dr Gibb, the Rev. H. Van Staveren. and leading members of other denominations.
