Fat sheep were a shade better, and fat lambs sold firmly at last week’s rates. Store sheep were back in price, and tat cattle were practically unaltered. Store Sheep.—There were smaller yarding to-day than during the last two weeks. There were much smaller entries from Kaikouia and Otago, the casing market at Addington on account of tho continued dry weather no doubt being the cause. Mail- - Sounds and the North. Island were heavily represented. In all classes except a few local lines ewes were easier than lambs by Is to 2s, even forward sorts being affected. Good two-toothed three-quarterbred ewes realised 37s 6d; good three-quarterbred four, six, and eight-toothed ewes, 30s to 32s 10d; low-conditioned and inferior three-quarterbred owes, four. six. and eight-tooth, 3-le to 275; four and five-year-old three-quarterbred ewes, low condition, 19s 6d to 235; fair four, six. and eight-toothed hulfbred ewes, 26s 6d to 30s; failing-mouthed ewes, 16s to 235; aged ewes, 3s 9d to 14s 6d; good forward four, and six-tooth crossbred wethers, 27s Gd; good four and six-tooth halfbred wetb* rs, 34s 3d to 25s Gd; ordinary, 20s Id to 22a 3d; forward rape lambs, 20s to 235; ordinary, 17s to 19s; medium. 13s to 16s 6d; cull, 8s 6d to 9s 6d. Fat Lambs.—The yarding was slightly over 5000, and there was a keen sale at fully 101 d for firsts. Extra prime lambs realised up to 40s; prime, 82s to 35= ; medium. 28s to 31s: inferior, 25a to 27s Cd. Fat Sheep.—There was an average yarding, ewes predominating. The demand improved by Is to 2s per head. Extra prim© ivethers realised from 37s Gd to 40s; prime. 32s 6d to 35s Gd; medium, 28,s to 325; light, 24s to 27s Gd; extra prime owes, 355; a few special to 395; prime ewee, 26s Gd to 30s: medium, 23s to 265; light, 20s Gd to 22s 9d; aged and ■ inferior, 16s to 20.5. Store Cattle.—A poor lot was offered. Three and four-year-old steers realised £5 Is; yearling to two-year steer's, £l‘ss to £2 2s Gd; yearling to 18-month heifers, £1 5s to £1 12s Gd ; good cows, £2 to £2 ss; medium. 355. Dairy Cows.—There was a dull sale, only the best selling well. Springing heifers realised from £7 10s to £9 ss; medium spring ing heifers, £1 10s to £6: others, £2 ICo to £3; best second and third calvcrs, £7 IGs to £lO 10s; medium sorts, £4 10s to £G; others, £1 10s to £2.
