RONA CHANGES HANDS.

The well-known 14ft one-design boat, Kona which successfully defended the Sanders Memorial Cup at Wellington last month, has changed hands, her new owner being Mr C. G. Macindoe, of Auckland. Rona was built by Mr C. Bailey, jun., to the order of Mr A. E. Gifford, and lias been sailed with considerable success by his son. Mr J. Gifford. She has been twice called upon to defend the Sanders Cup—once in Auckland in 1923, and at Wellington last January and on both occasions won the much-honoured trophy. Mr Macindoe, who has long been connected with aqnatios on the Waitemata, is owner of the fast motor-cruiser Lady IJna, and has purchased the Rona for the use of his son. Rona will continue to race in the various clubs in Auckland, and will te manned for the remainder of the season by her present crew.
