A DROP TO DEATH

MAN’S TRAGIC FATE. PRISONER IN BURNING HOUSE. Pnu Association—By Telegraph— Copyright LONDON, February 25. A man was seen hanging from a window ledge on the third floor of a burning building in Liverpool while flames were pouring out of every window. The spectators cheered and shouted to the man to “Hang on; the firemen are coming."' “I cannot stick it any longer,” he exclaimed as he released his hold and crashed to the pavement. He was removed to hospital, where he died. The firemen were unable to enter the house, which was like a furnace, until it was gutted. Then they found the incinerated body of a woman in the ruins.— Sydney Sun Cable.
