YOUNG WOMAN ATTACKED.

A MYSTERIOUS INCIDENT. (Fes United Fsess Association.) WELLINGTON. February 21. Mystery surrounds an incident which occurred in a pastrycook’s shop in Hopper street. A young woman attendant is alleged to have been rendered unconscious by an unknown man who raided the till and walked out with loose cash to the value of 15s. 'The girl was attending to the shelves when she felt a sharp blow at the back of one oar. Her back being turned to the counter, she did not see her assailant. The matter was reported to the police. It is stated that when the girl was examined by a doctor no marks or evidence could bo found. It was suggested that she may have merely fainted, and was not assaulted. That theory, however, does not account for the disturbed till and the missing cash.
