HANDSOME ESSAY PRIZES. Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyrigct LONDON, February 1. (Received Feb. 3, at 5.6 p.m.) Thirty-seven prizes totalling £2OOO are being offered to citizens of the British Empire for the best answer to tho ques tion: How can peace and prosperity be restored to Great Britain and Europe through international co-operation? The donor is Mr Edward Filene, a store owner of Boston. Australasian contribu tions must roach 13 John street, Adelphi London, by June. 26 next, and must not exceed 3000 words. If over 2500 words they must be accompanied by an introductory summary of not, more than 250 words. The plans w’ill be judged not on literary merit, but on inherent .soundness and practicability. The plans must have practical application bv January 1, 1926. Tinfirst prize is £IOOO. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
