Harrowing stories of the terrific ha v caused by smallpox in Hongkong are told by on the Tbkohama Maru. People are falling in the streets, the hospitals are overcrowded, and hundreds are dying daily. Since December 1 3000 people a day are being vaccinated in Hongkong, and 1500 a day in Lowloon. A distressing feature of the epidemic is the mortality among infants.—Sydney Bun Cable.
