EXHUMED AT MIDNIGHT
MURDERER’S BODY BURNT. JEFFERSON (MAINE), December 26. The body of John Snow, who committed suicide after slaying his wife and two other women, was secretly exhumed at midnight by unknown persons. The body was placed in the bouse where the murders occurred and was then burnt. Although the coroner characterised the murders as a madman’s work, threats had been made that the body would be burnt.* Snow was buried on a lonely farm when cemetery burial was refused.
