NAPIER WOOL SALE.
(P*a United Peesb Association.) NAPIER, January 9. The second Napier wool sale of tha season commenced this afternoon and continued this evening, when two catalogues comprising practically half the total offering of 52,610 bales were disposed of. The sale will be concluded to-morrow. There was a very large and representative bench of buyers. The Continent was most prominent, and took a big percentage of the offering. Bradford also bought freely, and prices were fully 2yd in advance of tha last Napier sale. Lambs’ wool was keenly competed for, whilst there was also the greatest keenness for fine pieces, the prices for which in several instances were in advance of those realised at the last sale. Southdown wool brought up to 26d, strong halfbred up to Romney crossbreds 20id, Romney lambs 23id, fine pieces 193 d, bellies 14£d, crutchings 10Jd, locks Sd.
