PORTION OF A HUMAN FOOT.
TRAGEDY OF TEN YEARS AGO. (Per United Press Association.) TIMARU, December 19. It is reported by the manager of the Mount Cook Company that portion of a human foot was found three-quarters of a mile below the Hoclistctter ice fall. The remains recall a tragedy of 10 years ago, when Mr King, of tho Alpine Club, England, and Guidos Thompson and Richmond lost their lives early in 11)14 in an avalanche at an altitude of 8000 ft. It is estimated that the remains moved 4jift a day, or approximately three miles in 10 years.
