RINDERPEST OUTBREAK
SWAN RIVER AREA AFFECTED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Conyrigftt PERTH, December 17. Fresh outbreaks are reported of rinderpest at Bassenden, near the vicinity of the first outbreak. The affected area is across the Swan River. The authorities destroyed all the cows within a radius of half a mile. This will be followed by the destruction of those within a mile radius. TASMANIA APPREHENSIVE. HOBART, December 17. The Government has issued a proclamation against the importation of any plants or cattle from Western Australia in consequence of the rinderpest outbreak.
