The Opihi, from AVellington direct, arrived here yesterday morning. She will sail this evening fur Nelson and New Plymouth, via ports. The Breeze is due here to-morrow from AVellington, and will sail again the same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, AVellington, and Wanganui. The AA aikouaiti will lead at Sydney and Newcastle this week for Lyttelton andTimaru. The Ngakuta, with a load of cargo, left Auckland on Saturday for AVellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, "being duo at the lastnamed port on Friday. The Kamo arrived hero from Napier, via ports, on Saturday evening. She is to sail to-day for AVellington, Napier, and Gisborne via porta. The Karori left here on Saturday for Bluff. She will return on AVednesday to load for East Coast ports and Auckland. The AVhangapo is scheduled to load at Sydney and Newcastle this week for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Kini is due here. to-morrow from Greymonth. After discharging her coal cargo she will load general freight for Westport and Greymouth, ' O uRIKA’S MOVEMENTS. The ketch Rira sailed from Auckland for Tauranga on AVednesday morning with general cargo. She is due back at Auckland this week with a full cargo of timber, and is to lighter explosives from the Pakeha at Motuihi during Christmas week. MAPU, FROM GRAFTON. With a cargo of hardwood from Grafton, Clarence River, to discharge, the schooner Mapu arrived at Auckland on AVednesday. CORNWALL LEA AW 3 PANAMA. A cablegram to the Federal Lino reports that the Cornwall arrived at Colon on December 4 from Liverpool, and sailed from Panama on December S for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. The vessel is due at Auckland about January 2. ARAWA’S FINAL SAILING DATE. Owing to the Arawa's delay at Auckland, her departure from Wellington, with passengers and mails for Southampton and London, has been postponed until December 20, instead of December 18. SMART DANISH TRADING- SHIP. The East Asiatic Company’s five-masted full-rigged auxilary training ship Kobenhavn (3091 tons register) arrived at Sydney on November 25 from Columbia River, alter a ependid passage of 44 days, and anchored off Port Piper. The Kobenhavn is probably the smartest looking training vessel that has ever entered Sydney Harbour, and, with her tall masts and big spars, she at once attracts attention. People stopped all along the foreshores and on the ferry steamers to admire this magnificent vessel, which is making her first visit to the commonwealth. The Kobenhavn was laden with nearly 3,C09,C00ft of lumber. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. Chatham Islands: Mimeric. THE PORT HACKING. The Commonwealth and Dominion Lino steamer Port Hacking, from New York, via Panama, Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton, was berthed on Saturday morning at the Victoria wharf, where she v/ill discharge about 700 tons of case oil and general cargo, including a number of motor curs. The vessel, which loft New York on November 1 and reached Colon ca December 8, passed through the canal in torrential rain. After clearing Balboa that evening line weather was experienced till November 2S. A cyclonic storm was then encountered, and lasted till November 30. A rough, confused sea was running and frequent rain squalls often overtook the vessel. Captain A. E. Strickland is in command, and has with him. the following officers; Mr G. Jinman, chief; Mr P. S. Ball, second; Mr AV. Maxwell, third; Mr J. Holand-HUi, fourth; Mr T. M. Lockie, chief engineer; Mr Robertson, second, Mr A. The Kent arrived at Auckland from Liverpool on Wednesday morning. After loading at Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool, the vessel cleared from Liverpool on November 4, and encountered a heavy westerly gale for 24 hours, followed by fine weather to Colon, which was reached on November- 10. Canal transit was made the next day. Fair weather, with moderate winds and seas,- was experienced in the Pacific, the Kent .making the complete passage in 37 days steaming time, at an average speed of 12.8 knots. Captain A. C.
