The Komata sailed yesterday evening for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, and Auckland. , . The Storm, from Lyttelton, which arrived here early this morning, is to sail to-day for Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wanganui. The Breeze, which arrived here yesterday morning from Bluff, sailed last night for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Calm, from Lyttelton, which is due her© to-day, will discharge her cargo, and will then dock at Port Chalmers for overhaul. The Kaitoke left Newcastle on Monday afternoon with coal for Timaru and Oamaru. After discharge at Oamaru she will come to Port Chalmers to dock for survey and overhaul. • - The now steamer Turakina, which is discharging Liverpool cargo at the Victoria ’wharf, is having minor repairs effected to one of her oil tanks. She is to sail early next week for Timaru and. Lyttelton to load for London. The Kaitangata is to leave Auckland about the middle of next week for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. From Bluff she will return to Port Chalmers to dock for survey. _ ’ , The Karori, from Auckland, via Wellington and Lyttelton, is due here on Friday. She will proceed to Bluff and will return to Dunedin to load for Auckland, via ports. The Ngakuta is to leave Auckland on Friday for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Holmdale, from Wellington, is due hero to-morrow, and is to sail to-morrow for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Calm, from Lyttelton, is due here tonight or to-morrow morning, and, on completing discharge, will dock at Port Chalmers for overhaul. THE KAIAPOI. The Union Company’s cargo carrier Kaia- ‘ poi, from Edithburg and Adelaide, via Hobart, arrived here yesterday with general cargo from the South Australian ports and timber from Hobart. She is to sail to-day for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland to complete discharge. A MAGISTERIAL INQUIRY. The Marine Department announces that it has been decided to hold a magisterial inquiry into the circumstances concerning the wreck of the auxiliary schooner Kaeo at Niue Island. The inquiry will be held at Auckland. THE AUSTRALIND. The New Zealand .Shipping Company have been advised by cablegram that the Australind, paitly laden at St. John, filled at Newport Nevs, and sailed from the latter port on December 4 fox Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Melbourne, and Sydney. The vessel should arrive at Auckland about January 9, and at Wellington a week later. THE TAHITI. The Union Company has received advice stating that the R.M.S. Tahiti, from San Francisco, arrived at Papeete on Monday, December 3, and sailed the same evening for Rarotonga and Wellington. The vessel is expected to reach Wellington to-morrow. ♦ THE PAKEHA. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's steamer Pakeha arrived at Auckland on Friday morning from Wellington. She is to leave Auckland to-day for Napier, and will sail finally from the latter port on December 13 for London. THE MONADNOCK. The Monadneck is to complete discharge of her cargo of raw sugar at Auckland today, and will then proceed to Newcastle to replenish her bunkera prior to loading a cargo of wheat in South Australia for Japan. 7 THE LING NAM. The Chinese steamer Ling Nam arrived at Callao, Peru, on December 4, from Wellington, via Tahiti and Balboa. The vessel left the southern port on October 27. She ie to sail for Iquique, Chile, and from that port to Wellington and Hongkong, being due back in New Zealand about the end of December or early in January. On her next voyage from Hongkong to South- America it is expected that the Ling Nam will make Auckland her New Zealand port, instead of Wellington. She is due at Auckland early in April.

The Eeardon-Smith steamer Quebec City, 4200 tons, arrived at Auckland on Thursday from Bunbury, Western Australia. The vessel brought over 1,006,000 feet of hardwood timber for this port. It is expected that she will sail on Friday tor Wellington and Dunedin, to discharge the remainder of her cargo. The Quebec City left Bunbury on November 22, and experienced fin© weather throughout the voyage. Captain G. D. Roc© is in command, and he has with him the following officers:—Chief, Mr J. T. Spanner; second officer, Mr J. Peggie; third officer, Mr E. N. Anholm; chief engineer, Mr F. Towler; wireless operator, Mr F. Batchford. THE CHANGSHA. Messrs Neill and Co. (Ltd.) have received a cablegram advising that the Changsha arrived in Sydney on December 6, and is to sail for Hongkong on the 22nd inst. ANDROMEDE AND EL KANTARA. The same company advisee that the cargo steamer Andromede left Colon on November £O, and should arrive at Wellington about Christmas Day. The passenger and cargo steamer El Kantara is to leave Dunkirk on December 30, Havre on January 4, Bordeaux January 9, and Marseilles January 22, and should reach Wellington about March 2a. The following are the latest movements of vessels in the Union Company's transpacific service:— Hauraki left Sydney on Saturday for Suva, Fanning Island, and San Francisco to load at Pacific Coast ports during January for Auckland, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. Waiotapu left Sydney Saturday for Newcastle to load coal for Wellington; thence Pacific Coast to load, for Auckland, Melbourne, and Sydney. Wairuna, from Pacific Coast ports, sailed from San Francisco on Sunday, December 2, for Papeete, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney. . Waitemata, from Wellington, is due at San Francisco about Monday, December 17, and will load at Pacific Coast ports for Napier, Wellington, New Plymouth, and Sydney. THE MOERAKI. The Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Moeraki, from Melbourne, via Hobart and Bluff, berthed at the cross wharf yesterday morning to disembark passengers and to discharge a large quantity of general cargo, including transhipments, ex ttio Ormonde; Posillipo, Diogenes, Gazanna, Ville d© Strasbourg, Jervis Bay, Hymettus, and Gannula. The vessel also has about 200 cases of fruit, and 20 stud rams from Melbourne, and 22 stud sheep from Hobart. She sailed yesterday evening for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland.
