BASEBALL TEAM.
THE MEW YORK GIANTS. TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND. (Fboh Ode Own Cobbespondent.J WELLINGTON, December 10. The New York Giants, the world’s baseball champions prior to last season, intend visiting Australia and Now Zealand towards the end of next year. According to advice received by Air L. Jb±. Gresham, treasurer of the Now South Wales-Baseball Association, who is at present on a visit to New Zealand, the team will arrive in Australia in October,- and will subsequently come to New Zealand. The players will include the stars from the National Baseball League of America. The conditions under which the tour is being made are- most favourable from.the Australian and New Zealand point of view. . Exhibition, matches are to be played. The visitors are asking for 80 per cent, of the gate takings. It is anticipated that there will bo a loss on 'the tour, but it is-understood that Mr M'Graw (manager) and others, who are interesting themselves in the tour, are quite prepared to bear the loss. The object of the tour is to demonstrate in the two countries which are now taking up the game the extent to which baseball can be developed. (
